Your first priority when handling horses should always be safety. A well-fitted helmet is non-negotiable. It protects your head from potential falls or accidents, reducing the risk of head injuries. Ensure that your helmet meets equestrian safety standards and is snug but not too tight or moves around freely.

Look for a helmet that has an adjustable knob at the back of the skull that allows tightening to a perfect fit. Bike helmets are not adequate for equestrian sport and will be rejected by proper riding schools.
